Depending on how you use the services, we may collect account and profile information such as your name and email address; optional contact or profile information such as a phone number or Letterboxd username/profile link; authentication and account identifiers; profile and privacy preferences; event commitments, interest, declines, guest counts, attendance and ticket/seating coordination information; ratings, reviews, support requests, and other content you submit; and technical information needed to secure, diagnose, and operate the services.
We use information to create and secure accounts; authenticate members; organize events and outings; coordinate headcounts, tickets, seating, and guests; display member information according to privacy settings; deliver operational communications; provide support; moderate the community; prevent abuse; maintain and improve the website and apps; understand service performance; and comply with applicable law.
The Club is social by design. Depending on your settings, other members may be able to see your name, profile information, ratings or reviews, and whether you are attending an outing. Where an attendee-name privacy control is available, we honor that setting in member-facing attendee displays while organizers may still access information reasonably necessary to administer the outing, protect members, and coordinate tickets or seating.
We use service providers and integrations to operate the services, which may include hosting, database/authentication, email delivery, film metadata, theater/showtime data, maps or links, analytics or diagnostics, and mobile platform services. These providers may process information on our behalf or receive information when you choose to interact with them. Links to theater, Letterboxd, WhatsApp, TMDB, or other third-party services are also subject to those providers’ privacy practices.
We may send account, security, event, ticket, support, and other service-related communications. If we send promotional or marketing messages, we will provide any opt-out mechanism required by applicable law. Opting out of marketing does not prevent essential transactional or account communications.
We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described here, including maintaining account and event history, resolving disputes, preventing abuse, meeting legal obligations, and preserving legitimate community records. Retention periods vary by data type. The account-deletion page explains the seven-day safety window, what is removed or retained, and the specific retention period that applies to limited records kept after an account is deleted. We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards, but no online service can guarantee absolute security.
You can update available profile and privacy settings through your account. You may request deletion of your account or selected personal data, subject to information we need to retain for security, legal, fraud-prevention, dispute, or legitimate recordkeeping purposes. You can also choose not to provide optional profile information.
The services are intended for adults and are not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 through member accounts. If we learn that such information was collected, we will take reasonable steps to delete it.
Atlanta Movie Club is based in Georgia, and information may be stored and processed in the United States and other locations where our service providers operate.
We may update this Privacy Policy as the Club, technology, or legal requirements change. The current version will be posted here with its updated date, and we may provide additional notice for material changes.
Privacy questions or requests can be sent through the site’s support tools or to admin@atlantamovieclub.org. Our general community rules are in the Terms of Use.
